So Chloe had her first day at the Finton House school yesterday. I'm still in shock over how well she did. Anyone that is aware of the nightmare time of getting her into class in the past will know what I mean. Chloe even skipped home today. Her teacher is warm, wonderful, and firm (sounds like a wholesome baked good).
Her day in Year One is scheduled into time slots. Yesterday she had maths (yes, that's how they write it), English, Music, French, Art, and Drama. Today she started the day going swimming, then handwriting, maths, and library. Tomorrow she wears her "games" uniform for sports, and then science, spelling, and design technology happening in later in the week. Can you believe? Never mind how proud she was and how cute she looked in her uniform. She only complained once when I brushed her hair, as her hair must be tied back everyday.
The funniest part of yesterday was that Chloe said she was pretty shy and quiet all day, except for during lunch when the cook couldn't understand her when she asked if anything had dairy in it, so she "had to yell at her." Euge and I are sure it wasn't a volume thing, but an english/american misunderstanding. :)
Today was Mia's first day at Cresent II "Kindergarten." She will go 5 mornings a week. She did great too - I stayed for 1/2 the morning and then left without tears. (meaning Mia). She loved it -although the "boys were a little loud." She also loved the dinosaur dance were the dinos shake their bum.
I'm feeling super super lucky about the schools we got the kids into. Just in the two days that I've talked to other moms at pickup/drop off, they can't believe that we got into the schools, esp because Chloe's school has a spot for Mia too, when she starts "primary" school next autumn. One said she tried to sign her daughter up when she was 9mths old and couldn't get in for next year.
