There's a baby in there

I had my first scan/ultrasound today. You have it done at the hospital. I had an appointment and still had to wait over an hour. At least the kids weren't with me (nor my NYC located husband). Anyway, all looks good - saw (and heard) heart beating, saw the butterfly view brain, nice spine, etc. Baby was moving tons and then fell asleep. Even though this is my third, I was speechless the first part, just amazed that the little one moving about on the screen was in ME! I skipped all the statistical tests on neck measurements (although she did say it was small) and blood tests for likelihood of downs. We had such an awful and traumatizing scare with Chloe during a scan that I'm just not willing to go through the statistical likelihood game again, plus that would just lead to more tests that I'm not willing to take. Anyway, it was a bit scaring saying "no" and I have a big DECLINED TESTING on my chart, but I'm OK with that.
And the other happy news is that there is only one fetus - with twins on both sides of our families, there was a distinct possibility. Now if the girls could just stop arguing about whether it's a boy (chloe) or a girl (mia)!

Congrats on the happy first scan! Hope things continue to be uneventful and wonderful! And how cute that Chloe and Mia are taking care of momma and not allowing bad food choices. (So glad Sabrina isn't old enough to offer opinions or narc on me to daddy when I eat something "bad".)

There's a baby in where?! I just did a double-take skimming through your blogs... This is great news. May the newcomer(s?) be as sweet and low-maintenance as Chloe and Mia.
