Well one thing I feel we've done well is take advantage of some of the amazing shows that are going on here.
In December, I took the girls to see "The Snowman" based on the book by Raymond Briggs and it was absolutely magically. It's a holiday classic here and I can see why. Like in the book, the snowman and the boy actually fly and then at the end of the show, bubble come down over the whole theatre as it snows on stage. Very fun.
Then, when my mom was here before Christmas, she and I saw "Wicked" (yes, my second time - had seen in NYC) which was great. For those that don't know, it's the untold story of the wicked witch and glinda in the wizard of oz.
Then when Gail visited in February, she and I had a night out and saw "Spamalot" (musical based on Monty Python's Holy Grail) and it was hilarious. (see previous entry)
Then when Rebecca visited in February, she and I saw "Avenue Q" another hilarious musical, but done with puppets and often totally over the line. (see previous entry)
In March, we took the girls to see "Peter Pan" the Opera, but it was too scary so we were gone before intermission. To be completely honest, as much as I LOVE opera, I thought it a bit annoying anyway so it was a relief!
This coming Saturday, a surprise for Mia's 4th birthday, we are going to Angelina Ballerina live on stage. I'm excited bc I know they will LOVE it.
So the common theme so far is funny musicals so we shall what will come next...
