Already three weeks ago, we all went to Paris for a long weekend. We took the Eurostar train through the chunnel (channel tunnel) and it was so quick - just a little over 2 hours! Nice trains too - so funny to go through passport control but not go to an airport (loved that).
We stayed at a super hotel - right across the street from the Gardens in front of the Louvre - location couldn't have been better. Shot of Chloe looking down from the loft in our room, wearing the hotel robe and slippers. View also from our room into the courtyard.
The weekend couldn't have been nicer. We just had a fabulous time together as a family and we all enjoyed Paris so so much. It's such a beautiful city - the attention to detail in the signs, buildings, food, etc are all remarkable. The people (mostly referring to restaurant folk) were really quite friendly and sweet with the kids.
Euge and I had both been to Paris a few times before as students (not together) and what we particularly enjoyed about this trip is that - foodies that we fully are - we could finally afford to sit and eat in nice restaurants! Not just baguettes and cheese to go (although we had our share of that too). Chloe even tried escargots. Chloe had an especially enjoyable food journey bc we said she didn't have to stay dairy free for the trip (that would have just been cruel and impossible). So they/we all enjoyed croissants with various accompaniments (jam, chocolat, ham and cheese, cheese and tomato), chocolat (hot chocolate), crepes with nutella, tartes, ham & cheese croissants, delicious gratinee de l'onion (french onion soup - had that about four times!), and just wonderfully made brassiere food. I think Euge's favourite was the cheese and charcuterie boards. Unfortunalty, I did not get to have that as pregnant women are not supposed to have soft cheeses, plus I was still in my nauseous stage so that helped. It seemed that you just couldn't go wrong (although I will say we had one bad crepe from a grumpy man and one bad meal from a grumpy restaurant). Apparently, if your heart's not in it, it comes through in the cooking.
There is going to be a boat load of photos/posts on this one (that's why it's taken me so long to post). We had such a great time. Highly recommended.

Looks like a very fun outing--I've only been to Paris once a few years ago with my dad and sisters and I kept wondering how my kids would do there--I want to go back and take my family with me! So glad you got to enjoy it all.
