Mia's Easter Bonnet

Today, Mia had her Easter Bonnet Parade and Poetry Recital in her school. It was great fun. Over the weekend, we made her bonnet by decorating a hat with Easter/spring theme and then today she wore it in the parade after the recital. I wish I knew how to put video on the blog bc I taped it for Eugene and Chloe -- it was so so fun. Mia did awesome, she led the pack I dare say. Stood up there on stage, proud, nice and loud and said her lines. She did five poems in total, two of them with two other kids and the rest with the whole class. I have words for two, which I'll add later. Photos are of her bonnet, her and me, and with her friends Millie and Tabitha.
Side note 1: All the kids do poetry recitals here - Chloe did hers the beginning of February. It's amazing what these kids can remember and it really is a special thing. I know my mom did them as a girl in Germany and she can still recite a long poem that she did when she was seven. I was totally amazed that Mia could remember all that!
Side note 2: Easter is a big deal here - I swear there's more hub-ub than Christmas (was a bit disappointed at Christmas decor here - but we were in Germany for Christmas and the Germans certainly do Christmas right). Chloe has an Easter egg hunt at school this morning -- when I left after drop off, there was an older kid dressed as the Easter bunny hiding eggs around the playground.
I am having one problem with Easter though - I can't find WHITE eggs to decorate!!! They must not dye eggs here, or maybe they just do it with the brown ones. I'll let you know how brown egg dying turns out.
