Our sweet big boy died last night, by the lake at my parents' house, while being snuggled and fed treats. His body and spirit had finally succumbed to the cancer he was diagnosed with in August. Even though we've been without him (as he's been living in CA with my parents) for two years , we had him for 12 and missed him greatly. He was such a good dog, moving with us from DC, to UT, to CA, to CT, to UT again and then to my parents in CA. His last years and especially months and weeks he was so taken care of by my parents and he lived a dream life for a dog, or even your average human!!!
Euge and I cried last night as we got to "talk" to him one last time and I knew when I woke this morning he was gone. I just told the girls now and they cried and cried. We all lament not being with him, or being able to snuggle him and feel his fur again, or the bone bump on the top of his head. He was such a good dog.
I so miss having a dog and miss our Wookie. Our last photos of him last summer (08).

I'm so sorry to hear Wookie is gone. I have to admit, I didn't know he was still living. If only we could all go so peacefully after such a full life, yes?
