Fancy Dress Month

The girls had two events at school this month when they could wear "fancy dress," in addition to birthday parties, when the little ones are often invited to wear it. Thank goodness Eugene once read a book in which this American mom in England learned the hard way that "fancy dress" does not mean pretty gown with gloves, but "dress up/costume!" So we never got caught in that.
The one event was a fundraiser for hospice care - each kid could dress as a pirate, go on a treasure hunt as long as they brought £1 in to donate. The different school houses promote these kind of events every couple of months to raise funds for their house's chosen charity.
Any day they don't have to wear their uniform is an exciting day!
The other photos are of the last day of Book Week, when they had a book swap and different authors came in speak/read. The theme was fairy tale characters. Weather was cooperative!

Great photos -- you can tell they are having a blast! Think these things are possibly made all the more fun by the fact that they have to wear uniforms on normal days?

What fun activities! I love that their schools are so involved in charitable donations and that they let the children get involved as well. Great photos of cute girls, as usual :).
